President Museveni has in the exercise of powers entrusted to him by the national 1995 constitution , Commander in Chief of the armed forces made several changes in the UPDF top commander.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Maj Gen Moses Rwakitarate has been appointed as the new commander of vital assets within the UPDF whereas former spokesperson, Brig Richard Karemire has been appointed as the new chief of \u00a0education, sports and culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the other side, Brig Charles Bakhumura has been sent to Turkey as Uganda\u2019s military attache whereas Brig Mathew Gureme is now Uganda\u2019s defence liaison officer in Tanzania and Brig Gaetano Omolla has bounced back as the commandant of the Uganda Rapid Deployment Capability Centre in Jinja.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He previously served in the same position before he was sent to Somalia in December 2022 as the UPDF contingent commander for ATMIS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
