Akol\u2019s appointment was made public by the League of East African Directors (LEAD), of which she is a member.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> Akol has  served as a Technical Assistance Advisor at the IMF since  2021 and previously she was a  partner at the law firm Dentons\u2019,Kampala.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Akol,  is a member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA) and went to Makerere university  where she graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree  and later on a postgraduate Diploma in Law Practice from  Law Development Centre. She also has a Master of Laws degree from McGill University in Canada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The versatile Akol first worked  at Price Waterhouse Coopers in 1994 and joined URA as a Legal Officer in 1995.  Between 2012 to 2014, Doris Akol  was the Commissioner for Legal Services and Board Affairs at the Uganda Revenue Authority where she also doubled as the Corporation Secretary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In October 2014, she was appointed Commissioner General at URA and held the position until  2020.
